Lohagad fort is one of the fort in the ranges of sahayadri,it has a glorious history, carved fort with strong fortification walls, its also called as Ironic fort.
Its located in Sahayadri range, Maharashra, Pune.
Nearest station is Malavlli railway station. visitors trekkers come here in rainy season to enjoy trek in between the beautify nature and cool climate.

Loahagad fort Stands in Sahayadri range with elevation of 1033 meters(3389 ft) above sea level.its surrounded with forts like Visapur Fort which is his twin, Tikona fort, Tung Fort and korigad Fort.
Lohagad Structure: fort is build with strong fortification walls with five entrance doors, Mahadawarja, Ganesh Darwaja, Narayan Darwaja, Hannuman Darwaja and Chor Darwaja. with watch towers that is Archer towers called as Burruz, with army barracks. Cannons and stones to attack on enemy.also big water well and water tanks & toilets are part of fort.
Point of attraction: five Doors,horse Stables, Grain storage, Arms & Ammunition Storage hall,Laxmi hall carved in mountain, lake, Mjaid, temple and Vinchukada (Scorpio tail) which is known by his shape for wind in rainy season its best to visit.
Lohadgad has a long history, Dynasties like Satavahana,Chalukyas,Rashtrakuts,Bahamanis, Nizams,Mughals,Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj,Marathas, later on British ruled this fort.but Marathas had a strong hold on this fort for long time. now its under Government of India.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used this fort to keep treasury due to it strong protective structure.
Fort has faced many attacks but every one who won the fort has maintained it. as it was one of the important fort. but in 1818 AD East India Company attacked on took control but Visapur fort was destroyed by the British.
